Boat rental without licence in Jávea

Spanish maritime law allows anyone to skipper a small motorboat (up to 5 hp engine and 5 m hull) within 2 nautical miles of the coast without any licence – making Jávea one of the easiest places in Europe to rent your own boat for a day.

Several operators in the marina and on Arenal beach rent licence-free boats from around €100/half-day.

Small motorboats up to 5 metres long with engines up to 5 hp, used within 2 nautical miles of shore and in daylight only. Sufficient to explore the entire Jávea coastline.

Boat, fuel (sometimes extra), life jackets, anchor, basic safety briefing, navigation map of the cove area. Snorkel gear sometimes included.
