    Pharmacies in Jávea

Where to find pharmacies in Jávea – opening hours, 24-hour service and what they sell.

Spanish pharmacies (farmacias) are identified by a large green cross. Jávea has more than 15 pharmacies spread across the old town, port and Arenal, with most staff speaking some English.

Standard hours are 09:30–14:00 and 17:00–20:30 weekdays, plus Saturday morning. One pharmacy is always open 24/7 on rotation – the schedule (farmacia de guardia) is posted on every pharmacy door.

    Where pharmacies are

The Arenal alone has six pharmacies along the main avenues. The old town has four around Plaça de l'Esglèsia. The port has three around the harbour.

    24-hour rotation

One pharmacy operates 24/7 every day on rotation (farmacia de guardia). The current schedule is on every pharmacy's door – or check the local town hall website.

What you can buy without prescription

Spanish pharmacies sell a wide range of medications without prescription that would need one in the UK or Netherlands: antibiotic creams, stronger painkillers, certain blood pressure medications.

    English service

Most pharmacists in Jávea speak basic English. The Arenal pharmacies are particularly well-equipped for international visitors with multilingual signage.
