Best Time to Visit Jávea
When to visit Jávea? It depends on what you want – beaches, hiking, value or fiestas. Month-by-month guide.
Jávea enjoys more than 300 days of sunshine a year and one of Europe's healthiest microclimates. That said, each season has its own character – and savvy travellers pick their dates carefully.
May, June, September and early October are the sweet spots: warm sea, mild temperatures, fewer crowds and lower rental prices.
Best for beaches and swimming
The sea is warm enough to swim from June to mid-October. Peak water temperature (around 26°C) hits in August. May and September offer 22–24°C with far fewer people.
Best for hiking and active holidays
October through May. Temperatures sit between 15°C and 25°C, perfect for tackling Montgó or coastal trails. Avoid hiking in July and August when temperatures regularly exceed 35°C.
Best for value and quiet
Late September, October, and the May/June shoulder months. Rental prices drop 30–50% versus August and most beach restaurants are still open.
Weather by season
Spring (Mar–May): 18–25°C, blossom, mild seas warming up. Summer (Jun–Aug): 28–35°C, hot, busy. Autumn (Sep–Nov): 20–28°C, warm sea, fewer crowds. Winter (Dec–Feb): 15–18°C daytime, ideal for wintering.
