Running in Jávea
Long seafront promenades, shaded trails and dramatic clifftop runs – Jávea is a runner's playground.
Jávea offers some of the best running on the Costa Blanca. The flat Arenal promenade is perfect for easy miles; the Montgó Natural Park has technical trails; and the cliff path from Cap de Sant Antoni to Cap de la Nau combines panorama with elevation training.
Most serious runners come for the winter – cool temperatures, dry weather and quiet roads make Jávea a popular base for winter training.
Top running routes
- Arenal seafront promenade (3 km flat, repeat for longer)
- Port to Arenal coastal path (4 km each way)
- Cap de Sant Antoni clifftop (technical, 8 km loop)

Training in summer
Run at dawn or after 19:00 in July and August – temperatures often exceed 32°C by 10:00. Plenty of water fountains along Arenal but bring your own bottle for trail runs.
Parkrun and clubs
Jávea Parkrun runs weekly along the Arenal seafront – free, 5 km and open to all. Local running clubs welcome visitors on group runs.
What to bring
UV-protective kit, hat, hydration vest for longer runs, trail shoes for the Montgó. Sunscreen even in winter.
