Trail rides through pine forests and along sandy beaches – horse riding in the Jávea area.
Several stables in the Jávea–Dénia–Jalón area offer guided trail rides, beach rides and lessons. Rides typically last 1–3 hours and follow quiet trails through orange groves, pine forests and along the lower Montgó.
Most stables welcome beginners and children from about 6 years; experienced riders can usually request a more spirited mount and a longer route.
Where to ride
Stables in Jesús Pobre, Jalón and Dénia all run guided rides into the surrounding countryside. Beach rides are seasonal and limited.
Routes and duration
1-hour rides for beginners, 2-hour routes through the orange groves and pine forests, and full half-day rides for experienced riders into the Sierra de Bernia.
Lessons
Private and group lessons available for beginners and improvers. Children's pony lessons run year-round at several stables.
What to wear
Long trousers, closed shoes with a small heel, sun cream. Helmets are provided by all reputable stables.
