The Beach House Roof Top Bar, Jávea – A Masterclass in Looking Good and Being Utterly Useless If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to sip disappointment with a side of stunning sea views, look no further than The Beach House Bar in Jávea. Let’s start with the one thing they’ve got going for them: the view. It’s genuinely lovely, turquoise sea, Montgó in the distance, a breeze that whispers “this could be paradise…” But then your experience screeches to a halt like a Vespa hitting a sand dune. Want a drink? Cute. You don’t go to the bar, heavens no, that’s far too efficient. Here, you must obediently sit and wait for a staff member to grace your presence. Usually about 15 minutes, or just long enough to forget what you came for. It’s like playing a game of “Will They, Won’t They?” with your thirst. Spoiler alert: they probably won’t. We assume their hiring process involves asking one question: “Are you forgetful, indifferent, or just plain idle?” If you answered “all of the above, congratulations, you’re hired! Service is a beautiful exercise in patience training, perfect if you’re trying to lower your heart rate or give up drinking entirely. And when it came to the tip, we didn’t leave a cent. Instead, we helpfully reminded them that TIPS actually stands for “To Improve Prompt Service.” Consider it less of a gratuity, and more of a community service announcement. To summarise: if you want to stare longingly at a bar while being ignored like a side salad at a barbecue, this is the place. The Beach House, where the only thing flowing faster than your will to live is the tide.
