Playa de la Grava sits right next to Jávea's historic fishing port, between the old town and the Arenal district. The fine grey pebbles, the protected harbour and the row of seafood restaurants give the beach a different feel from the busier sandy Arenal – more local, more traditional, more Spanish.

Calm waters and easy parking nearby make La Grava a favourite for residents and visitors who prefer a relaxed beach day combined with a long lunch at one of the marina restaurants.

## Location and atmosphere

The beach stretches around 400 metres along the port. Fishing boats unload their catch each morning and you'll find auction-fresh fish on the menus of nearby restaurants by lunchtime.

## Facilities and access

La Grava has good facilities including showers, toilets, accessible ramps and lifeguards in season. Parking is available in the port area and along the seafront.

## Eating around La Grava

The port lane is lined with classic seafood restaurants and traditional Spanish tapas bars. This is the place to try arroz a banda, fresh red prawns and Mediterranean rice dishes.

## Things to do nearby

Walk the small marina promenade, visit the unusual concrete church Nuestra Señora de Loreto, or take a boat trip from the port to the northern coves.
