Its limestone seabed gives the bay its famous turquoise glow and exceptional underwater visibility. The cove is regularly named among Spain's most beautiful beaches by national newspapers and travel guides, drawing snorkellers, kayakers and photographers from across Europe. Despite its fame it stays intimate: only around 160 metres of shoreline, accessed by a single winding road. ## How to get to Cala Granadella The cove sits 8 km south of Jávea town, signposted from the CV-740. The narrow approach road descends through pine forest and ends at a small paid car park (€5–€7 in summer). - Arrive before 10:30 in July and August – the car park fills fast - Bus line from Arenal in peak season - Taxi or pre-booked transfer recommended on busy days ## Snorkelling at Cala Granadella Calm, sheltered water and rocky edges make Granadella one of the best snorkelling spots in the Valencian Community. Visibility regularly exceeds 15 metres and the cove protects you from open-sea swells. - Sea caves on both sides of the bay - Octopus, wrasse and sea bream - Posidonia seagrass beds (UNESCO protected) ## Facilities and restaurants Two well-known beach restaurants overlook the cove – La Granadella and Restaurante Cala Clemence – both serving fresh fish, paella and chilled local wine. There are showers, toilets and lifeguards in season. ## When to visit May, June, September and early October offer warm water and far fewer people than midsummer.
