| Retaining the natural beauty One of the first principles laid down in the planning for Villes del Vent was that the natural beauty of the environment should be preserved. This is characterised by the use of traditional "borja mixto" roof tiles on all buildings and by using traditional hand-crafted stone walling surrounding the plots and lining roads. Constructed by local skilled people, all the stone is taken from a local quarry from nearby Gata de Gorgos, and cut on site imitating the dry stone terraces of the once cultivated mountainsides of the region. If you love nature and unspoilt environments, you will be captivated by the Montgó Natural Park and the soft Mediterranean breezes that create the verdant growth of the hillsides and valleys. Jávea unites sun, sea, valley and mountain landscapes, producing incomparable beauty and a very privileged climate long voted by the World Health Organisation as the most perfect in Europe in which to live. Our name, Villes del Vent, reflects these qualities of life and we have striven throughout our planning to retain as much of this harmony as possible. |
