Every house has a pre-installation for air conditioning in every room, but interior and exterior units are available at extra cost, currently between 5,000 and 7,500 euros depending on model. Prices in euros exclude taxes and legal fees. At current rates, IVA (VAT), land registration and legal fees will add about 10% to the cost. You may also decide to employ the services of your own professional advisor. Connections to mains services will also attract a modest charge, as is normal in Spain. Roads are maintained at the council’s expense, so there is no obligatory community charge.
